I use a Dell C400 laptop and win xp, and if I delete many email in MS
Outlook Express 6, my windows will crash immediately and reboot again, and
then, sometimes when I start my windows, the monitor of my laptop should
show only with 640*480*16color, and I must tune it to 1024*768*32bits-color
by myself, every time it does! and every time I delete email should cause
windows crash!

I install the latest update windows xp and all latest version hardware
driver for my laptop, which I download from dell.com.
so, it must a big bug of this box's Intel display card driver,as it share
memory with other program, there might be some big bugs with MS outlook
express, and following is some error report of windows:

The behavior you describe as well as the error sig suggest its a video
display problem. This could be due to the need to update or reinstall your
video drivers or some 3rd party program interfering. Right click on the
ialmmt5.dll in WInExplorer (should be in the windows/system32 directory) and
go to Properties and see if it says what program that dll belongs to. If it
does, then endtask that program, and see if the error goes away.

You can also try reinstalling or updating the video drivers, or go to
Control Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced | Troubleshooting and turn
down the hardware acceleration all the way and then see if that fixes the
problem.

Its not an OE issue per se.

thank you, and why just at the point when I delete hundreds email from OE
the windows
crashed? every time I got the same ends. and even I play a 3D game
Counter Strike, my display driver is still well.

so, why I am here? because OE is not a 3D program, but it could crash a
display
driver?
like a joke....

and even I change my password of some IMAP account and then send and receive
email
by this account, OE was crashed! and I write some chinese with MS input
method
program in IE 6,
and IE6 was crashed!! it is normal in my so "steady" win xp now days. so I
am here,
and insist that is also a bug of OE. except those, my win xp is very steady
going.

I already report this bug to Dell. so, wish MS could correct OE's bugs.
